It's a Girl! Ted and Sarah (Mucha) Freeman became the parents of Ava Nicole Dee Freeman on November 19th. Ava is the grandaughter of Nick and Sandy Mucha and the great-granddaughter of Larry and Doris Mears and Mary Mucha.

 

Thank you al who donated items for the Samaritan's Purse Project. The Contenders and Explorer Girls were able to pack 115 shoe boxes this year!

 

The Explorer Girls would like to thank all those who helped witht he spaghetti dinner and church tour. The money raised went towards the building fund

 

The Sunday School has scheduled the following dates for roller skating so mark your calendars!

      December 9th

      January 13th

      February 10th

      March 9th

The cost is $4.00 if you are renting skates and $3.00 if you bring your own. The skate times are 12:00-3:00 and the price includes lunch. Contact the church office if you have any questions.

 

There are many opportunities to volunteer in the New Year. Please consider serving as a greeter, usher, teller, nursery attendant, or Sunday School teacher. Please contact George or Diane Cooper if you are interested in serving in any of these areas.

 

There will be no American Baptist Women's meeting for the month of December

 

December 7th at 6:00 PM will be our Family Night Program. This month is a Make Your Own Pizza and Game Night. We supply the dough cheese and sauce; you supply the toppings!

 

This year's Messiah was a resounding success! There were approximately 260 people in attendance. Thank you to all who sang, listened, donated baked goods or helped with the reception following the Sing-Along.

 

 

MISSION OUTREACH PROJECT

Thank you for all the donations of clothing and blankets for Sister Jean's Kitchen. On November 27th, the group took up the most this group has ever done. :"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Annual Report

(yes, it's that time again!)

All Annual Reports from the church boards and committees need to be in the office by January 6th. This is to give the secretary time to assemble the books for distribution before the Annual Meeting on January 27th.

New to our Church

We extend a warm welcome to Susan Muracco, who joins our membership on December 2nd. Susan has lived in the area for a while and has found a home with us at CIBC. When you see her, make sure you introduce yourself.

Hospitality Night

Our church is going to be a hospitality center again this year for the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts Candlelight Tours. The members of the Baptist Youth Fellowship serve between 1000 and 1500 people each night. If you would be willing to donate either cookies or dough, please contact John Spriggs at 463-5993 or leave a note in the church office. The dates scheduled are December 8th and 15th.

REGULAR OFFERING ENVELOPES

Offering Envelopes will soon be available in the Church Foyer. Anyone who currently does not use Offering Envelopes and would like the, please see Bill Deamer. You do not have to be a church member to use the envelopes. You are encouraged to make use of them as they help ensure good record keeping.

 

Christmas Parties

The BYF will be having their Christmas Party of December 23rd. All Jr High and Sr High students are invited to attend. The Contenders and the Explorer Girls will both be having their Christmas Parties on December 12th. All members and their Props are invited.

The BYF will be acting as postmen again this Christmas by distributing your Christmas cards to church members and friends. Just bring in your cards and place them in the box located in the foyer. Donations in lieu of postage will be gladly accepted.

Everyone is invited to join the Sunday School for a Christmas Celebration on December 23rd at 9:30 AM. We will be looking at Jesus' birth through the eyes of Isaiah. It will be a time of fellowship and celebration.
