The Explorer Girls and
Contenders for the Faith with the help of our church
family and friends produced 124 shoeboxes for
Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. These
shoeboxes were filled by the boys and girls with
toiletries, toys, special messages and prayers and will
reacfh children in desperate situations around the
world. Thanks to all who contributed items, shoeboxes or
helped in the delivery. A special thank you to Carolyn
Lewis for her annual generous donation of filled boxes,
to Robin Taylor, our shoebox supplier and to Joan
Concannon and Esther Deamer for wrapping the boxes. Our
youth were blessed with the spirit of giving through
this mission project.
Attention all Explorer Girls PROPs! Don't miss our
Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 20th at 6:30 PM.
Remember, no gifts, but you can bring a contribution to
our Heifer International Fund in lieu of a gift. The
girls and staff have been contributing and we have
collected $69.60 so far! Come and join us in celebration
of our Savior's birth and fellowship and encouragement
of one another. Hope to see you there!
Explorer Girls is in need of a small tabletop
artificial Christmas tree. If you have one that we can
borrow until December 21st or you have one to donate for
our use each year, please see Donna Barnes or leave a
not in my mailbox in the church office. It can be a
"Charlie Brown" tree...we don't mind! Thanks! |
